The latest Deal of the Day is in Scottsdale, Arizona -- a luxurious destination known for its beautiful scenery, its elite shopping, its amazing spas and its fine dining.

Our pick among Scottsdale hotels is the four-star Resort Suites, which is currently offering 30% off its regular rates. I found discounted rates of $59 a night for June 5-8. And with the CheapTickets Summer Sale, you can save an extra $50 on any flight + hotel vacation package of three nights or more when you book by July 6 for travel through August 31.

For more information about what makes the Resort Suites one of our favorite Scottsdale hotels, watch my video.

On Saturday, May 24, the Boston Sailing Center is offering free sailboat rides along Boston's historic waterfront during a special open house.

It's open to all -- first-time sailors of all ages and more experienced skippers. 'Round-the-harbor sailing trips will be conducted by Center members and staff aboard boats ranging in length from 23 to 40 feet. Teaching staff will be available to answer questions about the Center's programs and sailing in local waters. If that's not enough to get you down there, the free refreshments might!

In fact, weekend cruises offer all the activities and amenities of cruising in just a three- or four-night trip.

Dine Around Town on your San Francisco vacation

Posted at 03:24 PM in Big Cities , Events , Free or Discounted

DinearoundtownBy Polly Fitz

It's hard not to eat well on a San Francisco vacation. This is, after all, the area where fresh, local, seasonal cuisine first came on the scene. And the San Francisco area has fabulous produce, fresh seafood and some of the country's hottest chefs.

So if you want to get a taste of the San Francisco food scene, June is the time to travel. The 7th annual Dine Around Town runs June 1-15. During this food fest, restaurants around the city offer special 3-course lunches for $21.95 and/or 3-course dinners for $31.95.

At French bistro Chouchou, you could have escargot, duck leg confit and creme brulee. Or the popular PlumpJack Cafe offers a lunch menu featuring braised short ribs with parmesan polenta and red wine mushroom sauce, and apple huckleberry crisp.

More than 100 restaurants are participating in Dine Around Town -- including some in San Francisco hotels. Vitrine in the 5-star St. Regis is offering a lunch special. Seven Fifty in the Hilton San Francisco Financial District (a fabulous location, by the way, close to North Beach, Union Square and foodie heaven: the Ferry Building) is doing lunch and dinner specials.

So find a cheap airfare, book your San Francisco vacation, and eat your heart out!
